Discover Town & Country Pizza And Pasta North Torquay

If you’ve ever cruised along the Surf Coast and found yourself craving something hearty, familiar, and genuinely satisfying, Town & Country Pizza And Pasta North Torquay is the kind of place that quietly wins you over. Tucked at 222 Fischer St, Torquay VIC 3228, Australia, this local favourite blends the relaxed coastal vibe of Torquay with the comforting aroma of freshly baked pizza and simmering pasta sauces.

I first stopped in on a breezy Friday evening after a long day at the beach. The dining area felt unpretentious and welcoming-exactly what you’d expect from a neighbourhood pizzeria. Families chatted over large shared pizzas, tradies grabbed takeaway boxes, and a couple near the window debated between a creamy carbonara and a classic Aussie with ham and pineapple. That mix of regulars and newcomers says a lot about a place.

The menu covers all the staples you’d hope for: traditional pizzas, gourmet combinations, pasta dishes, and sides like garlic bread and chicken wings. What stood out to me was the balance between familiar favourites and more adventurous options. For example, their meat lovers pizza comes generously layered without feeling overloaded, while the vegetarian options don’t feel like an afterthought. According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, pizza remains one of the most popular takeaway foods in Australia, and places like this show why-it’s adaptable, crowd-pleasing, and easy to share.

I ordered a classic margherita and a seafood pasta to test both ends of the spectrum. The margherita arrived with a crisp yet chewy base, a bright tomato sauce, and melted mozzarella that stretched just enough to feel indulgent. The seafood pasta, on the other hand, was rich but not heavy. The sauce clung to the noodles, and the seafood tasted fresh rather than overly salty-a common issue in coastal takeaway spots. It’s clear the kitchen understands portion control and flavour layering, two fundamentals often highlighted by culinary institutes like Le Cordon Bleu when discussing balanced Italian cuisine.

One thing I appreciate is their process. You can see staff working efficiently behind the counter, stretching dough and assembling toppings to order. Fresh dough preparation is a key factor in pizza quality; food scientists often point out that fermentation time affects texture and digestibility. While I didn’t quiz the chef on fermentation hours, the lightness of the crust suggested proper proofing rather than a rushed batch.

Customer reviews around North Torquay consistently mention fast service and reliable quality. On busy nights, especially during summer when tourists flood the Surf Coast, wait times can stretch a little. That’s fairly standard for popular local diners, and in my experience, the team handled the rush professionally. Orders were called out clearly, and takeaway packaging kept everything intact for the short drive home.

In terms of pricing, it sits comfortably within the mid-range for Victoria’s coastal towns. You’re not paying fine-dining prices, but you’re also not getting bargain-basement shortcuts. The ingredients taste fresh, the servings are generous, and the overall value feels fair. For families, that matters. Sharing two large pizzas and a pasta can easily feed four without breaking the budget.

Location-wise, 222 Fischer St is convenient for North Torquay residents and easy to access if you’re staying nearby. Parking is straightforward, and the shopfront is easy to spot. It’s the kind of place you remember for a casual weeknight dinner or a spontaneous takeaway after a surf session.

Of course, like any local eatery, there are limits. It’s not a white-tablecloth Italian restaurant with an extensive wine list or handcrafted artisanal burrata. Instead, it excels at what it promises: dependable pizza and pasta in a relaxed setting. That honesty builds trust. When a restaurant delivers consistently on its core offering, it earns repeat customers.

If you’re browsing menus in Torquay and weighing your options, this spot deserves serious consideration. Whether you’re after a classic slice, a creamy pasta, or a quick family meal, the experience feels authentic, approachable, and grounded in solid cooking fundamentals.

  • Amazing pizza and pasta! Couldn't get any better, highly recommend. Garlic bread wasn't my favourite. Being from out of town this was good and we would order again!

  • On holidays in Torquay from brissy over the Easter long weekend. This was the BEST pizza I've eaten in 20+ years. Garlic bread wasn't as yummy as I'd like, but the pizza more than made up for it. Just amazing!! Thank you guys

  • Pizza was very good overall. Not smothered in cheese which we enjoyed. Too much tomato paste on Margherita Pizza. Bolognaise Fettuccini was solid. Came with a little bag of Parmesan which was a nice touch. The Garlic Bread was honestly the best I’ve had so improved the rating from 4 to 5 stars. Thanks.
